Description
This is one of the most beautiful ball gowns we ever had. It is quite possible that ladies of the society in Paris danced with it. Or in another city, or in another castle, or on another occasion...One thing is certain: The antique ball gown comes from France, ca. 1864. The dress is a three-piece consisting of a short top, a round skirt and a bow hanging from a belt. Cream-colored satin silk is decorated with almost white and yellow tulle. The bodice is decorated with yellow fringes. Black binding cord to adjust the size of the neckline. Front closure by buttons. The skirt has the round shape that is typical for the dresses of this period. Small train. Back closure by means of hooks and eyelets. Large back bow decorated with fringes and tulle.
The ball gown is in very good to excellent condition. Discreet signs of age and wear. Open seam at the waist band of the skirt. The decoration is not included.
