Description
A gorgeous 1940s wedding gown in all it's splendor! The original photograph of the bride wearing the dress is included. The gown has a very long train and a key hole, sweetheart neckline with long sleeves ending in the typical pointed cuff fitted with 6 silk covered buttons on each under the wrists. It has a fitted waist and an enormous full skirt which drapes beautifully because of the heavy silk charmeuse fabric.
The gown is in very good vintage wedding condition. It has no major stains, pit stains, yellowing or rot. No tears and no holes or pics or pulls.
There are spots on the hemline in the front, some soil and some organic food spots. A french hand laundry should be able to help with these. I have photographed them for you. The gown presents beautifully.
The measurements of the gown taken laid flat and measured straight across are:
shoulder to shoulder 14 1/2 - 15" approximately because of the puffed sleeves
bust 16 1/2" not including some bodice fullness, just measuring pit to pit
waist fitted 13"
hips full and free
shoulder to waist 16"
shoulder to hem front 55" Back 100" (long train)
waist to hem 39"
