This is a beautiful Byers Choice caroler. This is a 1998 man carrying a basket with candlestick holders and having candle holders on his belt. This character, known as a Crier of London is from "The Carolers" series for Christmas. It depicts the young man, who is a peddler of metal wear to hold candles carrying a basket full of candlestick holders and having two tin candle holders on hid belt. He is wearing green and blue pants, a blue jacket, a white turtleneck pullover, brown shoes, and a hat. His hair is dark brown and his mouth is wide open caroling or crying his wear on the streets of London. The piece has a small tag which explains all about the "Cries of London" who were supposedly peddlers in the streets of cities and towns in England selling al types of merchandise and known for their loud voice and the Rhymes of their cries. The character is standing, with a lean backwards and bent knees, on a slightly off-round green base. The bottom of the base has the markings for Byers Choice and the date. A great piece of Christmas collectible to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

The was made in Chalfont, Bucks County Pennsylvania and was purchased at an estate sale in that area.

Measures ~13 5/8" in height and the base is ~3 1/8" by ~3 3/8". The piece weighs almost 13.5 ounces.

Very nice Christmas decoration or collectibles. A great piece to add to your collection of Buyers Choice Carolers.
Condition:
The caroler is in very good condition with no losses or breaks. It is relatively clean and shows some minor signs of wear and soiling. The only thing we see, is the fact the piece is leaning backwards making slightly unstable and easily tips over, but we believe that is the way the piece was made and did not attempt to correct the issue. However, this is truly minor and does not affect the quality or beauty of the piece. Just a nice 21 years old piece to add to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
