DESCRIPTION: Here is another bow from my personal collection that I am putting up for sale. It is a nice Ben Pearson Special 7300 in good shape with a usable string. This bow is an every man's workhorse. It has NO delamination; no cracks; limbs are straight and look good. Tips are in very good condition. There are NO drilled holes and only very minor nicks/dings/ scratches that are not at all affecting the serviceability of the bow. There are no noticeable stress lines or crazing, however the original finish has worn in some areas and has been touched up in places, most noticeably around the coin. I did that myself because one day I was using the bow and the coin fell off . I glued it back on and touched up some of the finish in that area and admittedly, I did not do a professional job at it (see close up photo). There are only a few "normal wear" minor scratches and tiny dings here and there. There is very little if any discoloration and ancillary marks in the glass. The limbs look good to me but might show some
minor imperfections in the glass resin. The decal is in excellent condition. The leather arrow plate and the shelf rug are also in excellent condition. Overall, this is a solid, hard-hitting hunting bow in good condition for its age.
The 45 pound draw weight is an ideal weight for most shooters to be able to handle with some practice and it is strong enough for deer or small game hunting and yet a pleasure to shoot for practice at targets. By the way
, while this is a left-hand design, as an ambidextrous shooter I personally found this particular bow to be very easy to use with either hand!
I, myself bought this bow used from an auction some time ago and I have had a lot of fun with it and have taken good care of it, and now it's your turn.
I cannot tell you much about its history.
It is my understanding that The Special 7300 was a mid-priced bow when new and it was made for the mass-market. The Special 7300 was not typically part of the Ben Pearson catalog lineup because it was supplied to big chain stores and sporting goods stores rather than being sold through the Ben Pearson dealers of the day. Also, for that reason it is hard to know exactly what year this bow was made but I think it was somewhere around 1970.
