Spectacular large version Cologne Cathedral metal souvenir building musical jewelry box made in Germany in the early to mid 20th century.
This cathedral is cast in metal with a verdigris bronze patina and unbelievably intricate detail, giving life to every Gothic arch, buttress, spire and finial. Open the top and the music plays. Inside is a blue felted compartment for jewelry or trinkets. It even comes with its original key that locks the jewely box. The base is embossed in German "Kolner Dom - Bauzeit 1248-1880 - Hohe 160 m". The underside is embossed with a coffered grid design and has a wind up key for the music box.
It stands almost 8" tall by 6" across by 3.5" wide, and weighs alomst 3.5 lbs.
It's in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, breaks or damage. You won't find a better version of Germany's great Cologne Cathedral. So own it with your winning bid.
