DESCRIPTION
Japan Luster Teapot with Pagoda style handle and hand painted with a stylized Jay bird in a blooming Jasmine tree.  The teapot is marked in the clay and under the glaze in ink.  It has a locking lid as is typical of this type of ware.  Circa would probably be in the 1920's or 30's.  This one is from the estate of the late restaurateur, Amanda West of Danville, Indiana.  It needs a good home.  It measures about 5-1/4" tall.  I see no damage of any kind that would diminish the value.  A very lovely teapot.  It would probably hold about 3 cups.
