    Description

    Rare Antique Japanese Banko Sparrow Teapot Meiji Original Label.
    Condition is used and has wear that comes with age and use. Lid is missing and there is a tiny chip off of lower beak. Handle is secure and intact. Banko Ware teapots come in myriad of forms and decorations, most of them fairly standard shapes painted with cranes or flowers. I have saw a teapot in a quail form, but that is the only other bird form I've seen. I think this is just a precious little piece and have enjoyed it viewing it in my home for many years.
