Untitled DocumentVictorian Cream Silk Balloon Sleeve Wedding Gown Long Train Skirt Bustle Dress
This antique Victorian era cream silk balloon sleeve wedding gown long train skirt bustle dress dates from the 1880s. It is made with an off white cream color heavy silk satin fabric with a sheer white silk chiffon overlay on the top. This beautiful bridal wedding gown dress has a fitted bodice top with large full billowing balloon puffed sleeves, chiffon ruffle cuffs, a pleated chiffon high neck collar and front overlay detail, with double hook closures down the back, bow trim waist and is fully lined in a brown polished cotton fabric with stays, boning sewn inside including underarm padding. The top measures 16 inches long, with a 32 inch chest, 22 inch waist, 10 inch back, 21 inch long sleeves and a 12 inch neck. There is a matching fabric long train skirt with a pleated bustle back, silk straps sewn underneath to accommodate the bustle, is missing the back hook closure and is fully lined with a scalloped silk dust ruffle trim hemline. The skirt measures 40 inches long in the front, 80 inches long in the back, with a 22 inch waist and 40 inch hips. It is in good as-is condition, with a few tiny frays on the sleeves, some fraying along the skirt waistband, several small frayed pulls scattered on the skirt including a hole of missing fabric on the back (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful antique Victoriana wedding bridal gown piece of wearable art!
