Description
Vintage 1939 Ladies Ivory Wedding Dress Long-sleeve Button Back Long Train GownGorgeous 1939 wedding dress - classic shoulder cut with beautiful neckline with tie. Ribbon tie at waist - so dress could be easily tightened for a smaller waist. Long sleeves with point at the cuff. 35 cloth-button closure at the back. Fabric feels like a thick satin - so likely a rayon blend given the age. There is a loop on the underside of the train so it can be hooked up for dancing the night away! This beautiful gown was worn by a woman named Pauline Kies-Petros for her wedding in June of 1939. Clipping & photos of her are included with this post. We don't always get the story behind a lot of our pieces, so it's always fun to have this bit of history! Adorable to know she counted down the days until the big day.
Great vintage condition! There are a couple little issues here and there - some tiny little brown spots, some very light spotting that is likely water spots that isn't super noticeable. Theres some wear to the buttons. And it looks like she may have had brooches pinned in on either side of the collar so there are two small pinholes.
