Description
NEW WILLIAM TRAVILLA BLACK AND WHITE PANEL SATIN EVENING GOWNThis 1960s William Travilla evening gown in black and white satin skirt with a long sleeve knit bodice still has the store tag from Frances Brewster a Palm Beach, Florida boutique. There is no fabric tag, but this feels like Rayon satin and knit with a white Rayon lining the skirt and crinoline lining bottom hem panel. The knit bodice has long fitted sleeves that snap at the end, a deep "v" neckline with six decorative rhinestone covered ball buttons and removable shoulder pads. The skirt is composed of eight panels in either black or white (18 1/2" wide at base each) with a hem panel of horizontal black and white stripes. This eight inch wide horizontal panel can be easily removed to shorten the dress. Though this dress is unworn, there is dirt on the hem (shoe marks) and stains (see photographs); I believe this will come out when dress is cleaned.
Measurements taken with garment laid flat and from the front (unless otherwise stated). Manikin in photographs is a size 6 (bust 33”, waist 24 ½”, hips 34”) and stands 5’ 4 ½”.
