    Description

    For over a century, advertising turns its attention at  Christmas time to placing its marketing emphasis on 'things' of the season.  We celebrate that here with a significant advertising item from
    our collection of classic antiques of Christmas memories significance.
    There once was a time when a visit with Santa earned a button with a pinback for wearing as you shopped in the store whose name was advertised on your button.  In addition, there were Santa pinbacks with a small double barred cross and advertising "Health for All" as a fund raiser for the National Tuberculosis Association.   There were other pinbacks that wished everyone "Merry Christmas," and today, new versions of this century old craft are being produced.
    Our "Merry Christmas Happy New Year" pinback with red and green ribbons are rarely found with its original WW II "Wear Your Colors" card.  These were sold during the time of and after the war by veterans, and most pinbacks were separated from their cards to be worn.  Pinback is 1.25 inch diameter
    and made of celluloid and tin;
    card is 2.0 by 3.25 inches .
    Condition is outstanding with ribbons showing no fraying; card in very good shape but does show foxing.
